Reports from the Bono East Region indicates that a 77-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of his weed farm.

The 2-acre weed farm belonging to the old farmer is located at Atebubu in the Bono East Region, and after a raid in the area, the police arrested one Opanin Kwadwo Sampene who happens to be the owner of the banned plant.

The actual location of the farm is Mem, a suburb of Atebubu has subsequently been destroyed by Police personnel following his arrest.

The police told reporters that they got wind of the farm after they had a tipoff from a resident about the farm.

The suspect Opanin Kwadwo Sampene in an interview then confessed to smoking weed for sixty years.

He stated that because he has no support from anyone he decided to grow the plant to sell and make some money to take care of himself.
