The EndSars protest which started as vehement disapproval against a police unit, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), that rights groups had for years accused of extortion, harassment, torture, intimidation, and murders, has been going for days now.

The protest was marred by the infamous shooting incident by the Nigerian soldiers who killed unarmed protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday. In all this, some 5 people will never be forgotten after the protest ends, despite the collective efforts of all Nigerian youth.

1. DJ Switch

DJ Switch, real name Obianuju Catherine Udeh was the first celebrity to show to the world the atrocities of the Lekki incident by showing it on Live IG.

2. Aisha Yesufu

Aisha led the peaceful protest in Lagos during the first week of the protest. It was reported that even when tear gas and water were poured at the protesters to retreat, she was seen with her hands up in the air and marching forward.

3. The originators of the ‘Soro Soke’ term

This phrase was first coined during the candle night held for all who have lost their lives to SARS brutality. The term has gone on to become a war cry and to rally all Nigerians to keep on with the protest.

4. Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Omotola, and all the other celebs at the forefront

Of course the list of celebs who have been vocal on this issue is endless. Most of them have even been on the field protesting and putting their lives at risk.

5. Those who have lost their lives in the cause of the protest

Offically 50 people have died since the protest started. Definitely they won’t be forgotten.
