Mohammed Kudus will not play for several months after it was confirmed that he has suffered a meniscus injury.

The Ghanaian sustained the injury on Wednesday night during Ajax’s Champions League match with Liverpool, which the Premier League champions won courtesy an own goal.

Kudus was close to tears when he was taken off and after undergoing a scan on Thursday morning, it has been revealed that the injury is worse. He will require surgery.

It is a big blow for Ajax and the Black Stars. For the Black Stars, he misses AFCON qualifiers against Sudan next month.
