Anna-Mary Barnett, a mother of one had the shock of her life when she came home from work to meet an empty house one evening in 1965. The teenage mother’s world crashed infront of her upon learning that her baby sitter had run away with her son.

According to WLKY, Anna in her teens used to leave baby Jerry with her family when going to work but on that faithful day, she left Jerry in the hands of a baby sitter who in turn run away with him to an unknown location, leaving Anna in a devastated state. She described it as the most scariest moment in her life.

Jerry Barnett, who spoke to the news agency revealed that the kidnapper abandoned him after the two moved to another state. He was left all alone in the cold to fend for himself. He added that was later picked up by the state and placed in a foster care home where he was given a surname and a birthdate since they couldn’t trace his records at that time.
Jerry has finally reunited with his mum after 55 years and that is the best and happiest day of his long life. In the interview, he said, “I was scared to get out the car. There was a mob. I thought somebody was going to kidnap me again,”. How he found his way back home is believed to be the work of faith in God.
