A video showing the moment a woman narrowly escaped a possible robbery attack in an apartment following a chase by a strange man has hit the internet.


According to Eyewitness News report, the incident happened at 2 am on Thursday, September 23 at a multi-unit residential building near East 168 Street and Sherman Avenue.

The police revealed that the stranger trailed the 50-year-old woman into her building before attempting to invade her apartment and he retreated from the attack after the woman successfully shut the main door to her room.

According to the Police in a report on Ghbase.com, the victim whose identity was withheld was shaken and traumatized although she escaped unhurt. She returned home two weeks ago and spoke about the incident later.

A CCTV footage showing the moment the whole scene played out has surfaced online for your viewing.

“There were two guys outside looking suspicious,” she explained. “He followed me inside the building and said ‘Miss, miss’ twice,” she explained.

She stated that she knew he was around the corner seconds later and quickly tried to open the apartment lock.

Her instincts were correct. She stated that after watching the video, she realizes she was extremely fortunate.

“I’m scared, I was thinking what if, what if I hadn’t locked the top door, what if I hadn’t locked the top door, he could’ve gotten me,” she said.
