Speaking on Dream FM, Alhassan gave a chilling account of one of the most adventurous experiences in his 20 years of working as a mortuary attendant.

Alhassan said that he was on duty when he received a call from the nurses at the Bolgatanga Hospital children’s ward to pick up the body of a nine-year-old who was confirmed dead.

He said he went and wrapped the boy from the bed he was being laid in unto the mortuary trolley to be deposited at the morgue for preservation.

On his way to the morgue, he heard the boy cough and sneeze at the same time. He said he paused and carried the boy on his shoulders and took him back to the nurses at the hospital.

“When he sneezed and coughed, I immediately stopped and carried him gently onto my shoulder and took him back to the ward. The nurses started asking me why I was coming back in there with the body but I went straight to the bed and laid him there. I told them the boy was not dead. They were surprised,” he said.

The nurses who were shocked had to immediately attend to the boy with the required medications which helped the boy to regain his strength and was discharged after he fully recovered.
