Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehne has commended the professionalism of Ghana Police Service on the swift action taken to arrest killer of Mfantseman Member of Parliament late Honorable Ekow Quansah Hayford.
Nana Osei Tutu said he believe the Ghana Police Service has the requisite professional training for it officers, both in weaponry and technical skills in dealing with criminal cases.
When the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh paid a courtesy visit to Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II urged him saying ” You have had the best of training and when you are to discharge your duties, you do it very well. Over time, you have demonstrated your capabilities in investigating crime and apprehending criminals. Your professionalism is never in question and I would urge you not to allow challenges to sway you from your focus.”
The Police, through their professional investigation into the murder of the late Mfantseman MP, has so far, arrested 5 suspected persons and is preparing to processed them to court for further investigation.
IGP James Oppong-Boanuh has given his word to Ghanaians on security as the country prepares to walk to the election polls on December 7, amid the recent rampage attacks and killing of people which is raising fear among citizens.
