Top Tanzanian Bongo Flava musician, Mwasiti surprises music enthusiasts and the music community with a new collective dubbed; “The Black Butterfly”.
The body of work, ‘The Black Butterfly’ is a combination of different sounds in 5 different songs which also features 4 different artists namely; Mimi Mars, Rosa Ree, Baba Levo and Dogo Janja.
‘The Black Butterfly’ EP was produced by BinLaden and Frankin. The project happens to be her debut extended play, the collective adds up to her belt with the previous 2 albums namely; ‘Nambie’ and ‘Complete Woman’.
Mwasiti, real name Mwasiti Almasi Yusuph represented Tanzanian in Addis Ababa at the African Development Forum organized by UNICEF in 2006.
Mwasiti aka Black Butter is well known for her song, “Nalivua Pendo,” which was number one on Tanzania radio charts for eight consecutive weeks. The song again won “Best Zouk Song” at Tanzania Music Awards in 2009.
