Renowned Ghanaian sound engineer, David Kwadwo Kyei, widely known as Kaywa has shared a sad story of receiving some slaps from his father for informing him that, he wants to be a sound engineer.

Narrating what happened in a recent interview, the highly spiritual record’s boss stated that, one day his dad called him and asked him whom he will want to become in future, happily he said a Sound Engineer.

He disclosed that his father went silent, stood up and watched him without saying anything. He then went behind him and all he felt was a big slap landing in his face.

“I know of mechanical engineering and others, but where from this sound engineering thing after all the school you have attended”, his dad furiously stated.

He revealed that his dad hasn’t been in support of his career, although his mum is the only one who still thinks about my career and till date she checks on him and all the artistes on his label.

He noted that his mum vacated her provision shop and gave the space for me to start with, and she bought lights for me whenever my light goes off.

Additionally, he stated that as for his dad, he will always come to me talking about me disturbing his peaceful sleep with my beat production.

However, he revealed that his dad after hearing his song on BBC acknowledged the fact that he has been able to achieve his dream.
