Rapper Okyeame Kwame stunned listeners on the Cosmopolitan Mix with Mamavi Owusu Aboagye on Joy FM when he revealed that he only spent ¢300 on his entire wedding a decade ago when he got married to Annica.
According to him, it’s not because he was hard up as some people might interpret it but did it because his wife was the shy type who could not stand the attention. “Annica is very shy. She would have fainted,” he explained.
The veteran rapper revealed he went to Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) along with his bride, some family members and friends to sign for the marriage.
Okyeame Kwame explained that half of the ¢300 was used for the marriage registration and he “used the other half to buy fufu to eat with some friends.”
After 10 years of marriage, the rapper is unsure of doing a vow renewal with a crowd around. However, that would not stop him from making an appearance at the Joy FM Beauty and Bridal Fair this Thursday to cheer on his colleague, Adjetey Anang. The Anang’s would renew their vows at the 16th edition of the fair in an event expected to attract thousands.
