Mzbel and President Mahama

Singer Mzbel has endured a torrid moment in Ghana recently. Often noted as one of the female pioneers of hiplife genre, the 16 years singer has had her personality torn into shred simply because she aligned herself to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

I think it is high time members of the NPP put an end to this uncouth behaviour of vituperating any celebrity who supports the NDC. Democracy stipulates that we all follow party principles that are consonance with our ideologies. Supporters of NDC have endured this unwarranted attacks and Mzbel undisputedly, happens to be the most affected.

She has remained unscathed and in a latest affirmation of her loyalty to the party and outgoing president, Mzbel has penned an emotional letter to bid him goodbye.

She wrote: “JDM- A CANDLE IN THE WIND it seems to me, you lived your life like a candle in the wind never knowing who to cling when the rain set in.

Yo had the grace to hold yourself in these painful moments whilst most grassroots, and those around you throughut the country crawled. Moments I can’t ever forget in my entire life.

You changed the pace and image of NDC politicking, your demeanour, language, humour.

You’re my model

You’re my hero

From Bole, you rose as teacher, Assembly man, MP, Deputy Minister, a Minister, Vice President and a President.

An accomplished man on our land. In our contemporary politics, nobody had chalked that feat. To me there exist a certain STAR on your birth. I yearn for your presidency again.

Sir Piero”
