Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Azeez Fashola, known in showbiz as Naira Marley appeared in court on his hearing on the alleged cyber fraud case levelled against him.
According to Lindaikejiblogspot.com, Naira Marley, is facing 11-count charges which are clearly listed as conspiracy, possession of counterfeit cards and fraud. The second witness, Mr Anosike Augustine, a mobile forensic expert with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), explaimed how he analysed the contents of an iPhone 11 allegedly retrieved from Naira Marley during investigation.
He told Justice Nicolas Owebo, General Representative of the Federal Court in Lagos, that he had prepared a report after collecting and analyzing the evidence found on the singer’s phone.
Following the 30-page report by the EFCC witness, Naira Marley’s counsel and Nigerian senior advocate Adviser Olalaca Ojo rejected a written request. He insisted that it was not part of a defense letter front-loaded to the defence team and does not know the content of it.
Justice Oweibo adjourned the case so that his lawyers and prosecutors could determine whether the report had been front-loaded or not.
