Reggae Musician cum radio presenter, Blakk Rasta has claimed his beleaguered boss, Nana Appiah Mensah has not paid them for as long as 9-months.
Blakk Rasta hosts the stations’s flagship Reggae programme on Zylofon FM, one of the chains of companies owned by the runaway NAM1, whose whereabouts still remains a mystery.
The ‘Barack Obama’ hitmaker told STV Africa that he and other workers of the station are going through challenges but added that irrespective of that, it’s his wish his boss pays customers of Menzgold before paying attention to staff.
He also revealed that some of the workers who couldn’t stand the hardships have left the company but he and others have remained to push forward its agenda.
Menzgold, a gold trading firm owned by Nana Appiah Mensah was closed down by the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) for doing business illegally.
In a letter dated September 7, SEC said it has thoroughly investigated the activities of Menzgold and has found that, the Nana Appiah Mensah-owned firm does not have the license to trade in gold collectibles from the public.
The statement explained that interactions with representatives of Menzgold confirmed to SEC the view that the aspect of Menzgold’s business which involves purchase and deposit of gold collectibles and guaranteed returns is a capital market activity under Act 929 without a valid license issued by SEC which contravenes the law.
That was just the beginning of NAM1 problems as millions of dollars belonging to investors have been locked owing to the closure whilst the man himself is nowhere to be found.
