Deputy Minister of Health has contradicted Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who stated in a press statement that President Nana Akufo-Addo is on 14 days self-isolation.
Dr Okoe-Boye differentiated the term isolation and quarantine with respect to Covid19, Indicating that Nana Addo is rather quarantine not in isolation
He disclosed that if someone is negative the term of distancing himself from others is quarantine.
The ministry of information released a press statement that the president has taken 14 days self-isolation which in English term means he has tested positive for coronavirus but the release didn’t say so.
Speaking on the Point of View, on Citi TV, he stated that if you are positive you are in isolation; the terms are different.
But if you come in contact with someone positive and awaiting your results then you’re in quarantine but once your results appear positive then we can call it isolation.
He therefore noted that isolation is a term used for positive covid19 cases.
