The opposition National Democratic Congress NDC has promised to offer free legal services to people in the creative arts industry.

The NDC spokesperson on creative arts, Baba Abu Sadique indicated that they have realized the ruling government has failed to protect the intellectual property of creative talents and have been sideline hence the need to take such steps.

He noted that there is a legal aid at the Attorney General’s Office but it’s overstressed and the focus of the aid is mainly on Gender Child and Human right issues.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi based radio station Pure FM, he explained that many industry players go into contracts they don’t understand and later get cheated by the other party because there’s no legal practitioner to aid him on the contract.

According to him, creative players append their signature without knowing the details to a contact.

Mr. Abu Sadique assured that the legal aid by the next government will be available for all people in the industry who has the inability to hire lawyer for themselves.
