Mr. Lord Hammah, a former Propaganda Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has argued that legalizing the operations of Okada cyclists is tantamount to giving armed robbers work to do.

The leader of the biggest opposition party and former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama addressed party faithfuls during one of his campaign tours in the Volta Region where he said he’ll legalize Okada operations since it has already come to stay. “Our law says okad a is illegal, but it is a reality it has come to stay and you can’t stop it. So, I say when we come into the office, we legalize it but we will regulate it,” Mr. Mahama said while addressing the people of Kpando on his tour of the constituency.

But his own party member Lord Hammah is singing a different altogether in a Facebook post he made. He wrote: The Okada legitimacy is also an endorsement of armed robbery.
