Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has accused the Akuffo Addo led government of misleading Ghanaians by introducing new taxes that would come into effect very soon.

Ghanaians enjoyed the gifts from March to the end of 2020. Although some people suspected that the move by the president and his government will use the gifts to get Ghanaians to vote for them in the 2020 elections.

Others also felt that the government had no additional motive behind this kind gesture towards Ghanaians.

The Information Minister, explaining why there is a COVID tax, stated that it is to pay for the free water that Ghanaians enjoyed in 2020 before the elections.

John Dumelo, who failed in his attempt to become a Member of Parliament from Ayawaso West Wuogon in a tweet, has stated that the next time Ghanaians hear for free from this current government, they would flee.

Adding that the government very well misled the citizens with the gifts.
