#1 Kwame Nkrumah – African (Nkrumah) Showboy

The first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was nicknamed African Showboy for his ‘shows’ on the African continent just after Ghana’s independence. He wanted to promote Pan Africanism by helping other colonized states in Africa to attained independence. Ghanaians even composed a song for him using the ‘Showboy’ tag.

During the reign of Ghana’s first coup President, General Acheampong, Ghanaians believed he gave cars, notably, Golf, to ladies after having his way with them. Members of his government were also in the act of doing what their was doing hence his ‘fa woto begye Golf’ tag.

 

#3 J.J Rawlings – Mr. Boom

One of the most popular Presidents is Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings. He was tagged as ‘Mr. Boom’ due to his constant boisterous nature. He is noted for his outspoken nature on every national issue.
