The Nigerian police officer who allegedly shot and killed a 16-year-old girl by name Tina, has been arrested, according to the Lagos state police command spokesperson.
According to reports, the trigger-happy policeman was trying to arrest a bus driver for violating the nationwide curfew. In the process, he allegedly shot the bus conductor dead as well as young Tina.
Using the hashtag #JusticefofTina, Nigerians took to social media to demand the arrest and prosecution of the erring police officer.
Following the outcry on social media, an investigation was launched.
Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, this afternoon, announced via his Twitter handle that the erring police officer has been arrested and will be made to face the full weight of the law.
