The Debt Management Office declared on Thursday that the total public debt of Nigeria has risen to N28.63tn.
On Thursday night, the DMO announced in its Public Debt Portfolio that Nigeria’s total debt increased from N27.4tn recorded in December 2019 to N28.63tn in March 2020.

This represents a 4.48 percent increase as the country’s public debt portfolio rose by N1.23tn in three months.
The debt office also added that the country’s total external debt as of the end of March 2020 remained at N9.99tn and its domestic debt was N18.64tn which makes about 65.11 percent of the country’s debt stock.
