We reported about a news article about the current state of the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium not long ago, and we did our underground check to ascertain the truth of the matter.
Per our checks and interaction with a source who is on grounds, the report that the stadium has now been turned into a maize farm is a half-truth story.
The source indicated that although there is a maize farm situated at the stadium premises. it is not the actual stadium which has been turned into the farm.
He indicated that there was a section of the stadium which was normally occupied by smokers and drug addicts so the stadium management thought it wise to give that portion out to a farmer so as to curb the malice where these smokers will use that section for their unwarranted activities.
He added that the stadium is still being used for football activities and even Okwahu United still train at the stadium.
However, the manager conceded that the stadium really needs an immediate facelift but he rubbished claims that the stadium has been used as a maize farm.
