The Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has stated that it has yet to receive an official communication regarding the arrest warrant issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States against a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

The arrest order was issued after Kyari was charged with a $1.1 million cyber fraud involving a defendant named Abass Ramon nicknamed Hushppuppi.

In an interview with Punch, Umar Gwandu, an adviser to Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), said that a transfer process would not begin until the US made a request.

Everything, according to Gwandu, will be done in accordance with the rule of law and the demands of the law’s current provisions.

He said; 

“There is no official communication to that effect.

“Everything will be done according to the rule of law and based on the dictates of the extant provisions of the law”.

Recall that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) dropped some mind-blowing allegations about the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.

According to the agency, Hushpuppi gave N8 million which is equivalent to $20,600 to the police chief to arrest and detain a “co-conspirator,” Chibuzo Kelly Vincent.
