Nollywood actor, Freddie Leonard has advised his colleagues on how the focus on their stardom and focus on how to make the movie industry move forward.
In an interview on “No Holds Barred”, Freddie Leonard hass pointed out what Nigerian actors and actresses can do to make the Nigerian movie industry be like America’s Hollywood. He added that some of his colleagues can be big and do great things like popular actor Tyler Perry.

Freddie Leonard’s response came after he was questioned by the host if there might be a time where some of his fellow actors can be as big as popular American actor Tyler Perry and also touch lives globally.
He told the host that if there are any of the actors that can be like Tyler Perry, then he’s the one. “You could be looking at one right now,” he said amidst laughter. “It’s possible if Nollywood actors stop focusing so much on stardom. Stardom is just the start of your journey as an actor, as a singer, as a songwriter, as a movie/music director whatever it is that you are doing within show business” he said.
“If we stop looking at stardom as the destination, why not? There are a few people who are doing great things, I am doing great things (laughs), people are doing great things, we are learning the business of show every day. So yeah, it is possible. I will not say one person could but I can tell you that a few persons can attain that level that Tyler has attained with all that he’s done – a few persons in Nollywood can”, he said.

He then asked named himself specifically as one of the few people, stating why. “But I beat my chest to tell you that you should watch out for me, I fall into that small group of persons because I have my eyes and my mind where we should be (laughs)”, he added.
