Black Stars’ captain, Andrea Dede Ayew has explained the reason for their loss to the Atlas Lions of Morocco, saying the turnout was not the results they expected pledges to deliver on Friday.

Yesterday, the Ghana Black Stars kicked off their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign against the Atlas Lions of Morocco at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The two African teams kicked off Group C at 4:00 PM, followed by Comoros and Gabon in the second match of the day. Prior to the tournament, Ghana and Morocco both lost to Africa champions Algeria in a friendly International.

Ghana has already been a four-time AFCON champion and is aiming for its fifth crown in four decades, while Morocco is hoping to end a 46-year trophy drought.

In reaction to their loss, Dede Ayew has assured Ghanaians of a better result in their next match as their loss to Morocco was unexpected.

Taking to his Instagram, he wrote; Not the results we expected… but we will bounce back Friday inshallah 🤲🏽🇬🇭 we keep going !

In other news, Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, well known as Stonebwoy has revealed that his love for the Ghana Black Stars is beyond what player features on the pitch during the game.

This comes shortly after the Ghana Black Stars lost 1-0 to Morocco during kick off their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign against the Atlas Lions of Morocco at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé, Cameroon today.
