Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor has applauded a native of Edo and Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, who has emerged the winner of the 2020 Marc-Vivien Foe award for Africa’s best player in Ligue 1.

Obaseki said: “Hearty congratulations to Edo son and Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, on his Prix Marc-Vivien Foé win, awarded to the Best African Player in the French Ligue 1. He is doing Edo proud at Lille and we celebrate him for being an enviable ambassador of our dear state.”

The governor also plans drawn out by the state to help nurture young upcoming talents. He said: “This informed all the investment we are making. It should be such that youths would have a plethora of options to choose from when they are faced with making career choices. So, we are engaging them in productive sectors of the economy. Grassroots sports is one of such avenues we are engaging our young people.”
