The gap between Nigerian and Ghanaian artistes keep widening and we keep wondering why our stars are only limited to the scope of Ghana despite their huge potentials.

Perhaps drawing parallel lines between the two neighbouring countries relative to music because of the fact that Wizkid has been highly acknowledged by a US governor is premature, but we can’t help it.

So the report says the Governor of Minnesota in the US, Mark Dayton, has in a document signed and sealed declared October 6 as ‘Wizkid Day’ that is a day set aside to celebrate the Nigerian superstar.

The Governor explained that this honour specifically to honour the singer for his numerous achievements in music and for his role as a cultural influencer.

The document also listed some achievement of the Nigerian artiste which includes recently becoming the first African artist to sell out the Skyway Theatre Minneapolis, making a Billboard number one hit ‘One Dance’ with Drake, selling out the O2 Arena London, walking the runway with Dolce and Gabbana, winning international awards, and many more.
