A few days ago, a Ghanaian pastor (well, in this context we shall refer to him as a pastor because we actually have no clue his role in Christianity) who happens to be the leader and founder of Asomdwe Tontom Som Ministry, Nyame Somafo Yaw, caused a huge stir when he said those who equate Jesus Christ and God will go to hell.

Speaking to Ghanaian journalist Amansan Krakye, the pastor said the inaccuracies in the Bible contribute to the variant doctrines practiced by different sects in Christendom which is the surest catalyst that will send people to hell.

He said the ‘Jesus is God’ concept is the biggest fraud in the Bible and added that despite the same Bible telling Christians that God and Jesus are two separate entities, Christians continue to cling to their own practice owing to their vast level of ignorance.

The issue caused so much hubbub on social media as Christians and non-Christians came out in their numbers to give varied views about the subject. The common denominator which runs through the commentary advanced on the theme by the zealots even indicates that a lot of the Christians are confused and don’t know how to project intelligent discourse. He prayed to him occasionally when he was on earth. When he was baptised God spoke from heaven and confirmed that Jesus is his son. Jesus always talked about his father during illustrations and even spoke to him when he was on the cross. How could they possibly be the same persons in all these situations?
