Due to the recent r@pe activities by miscreants in the society, the Osun State House of Assembly has passed a law which goes against the unfair treatment meted out to women and girls.

The Speaker of the Assemly, RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, together with the house sat on this bill which was passed into law to protect the health, life and safety of the women against people who engage in this evil deed. The law states that a rap!st shall be sentenced to life imprisonment while an attempted rape shall be sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.

According to him, the new law would help the various law enforcement agencies in the state serve justice to offenders without delay and also give the youth chance to partake in government activities.

He advised the youth to forgo the idea of hurting women to satisfy their sexual desires and engage in a profitable activity to make them better and dependable people.
