A single mother of three, madam Evelyn Abena Okraku has told the story of how she ended up being a single mother and cites her house help as the reason.

Speaking with popular YouTube channel, SVTV, madam Evelyn said she used to sell storybooks to schools before she took up the trading business after her sister traveled. Her hard work and dedication won the heart of her sister who involved her in the business.
According to her, it was her husband’s decision to bring in the lady to sing at church and also cook for the family. As a wife and hardworking woman, she knows the issues involved with housemaids and refused.
After much deliberations, she agreed to her stay in the house. She journeyed to her hometown to attend to her sick mother which upon her return, she smelt something fishy between the husband and housemaid.
“He refused to have intercourse with me and rejected my food,” Evelyn said. When she queried them about their closeness, both denied doing anything whilst she was away.

She was vindicated when the house help started showing signs of pregnancy, pointing to the man of God as the father of her unborn son. She added that she moved for the divorce by returning the drink her husband presented to her family on their wedding day.
The return of the drink in the Akan traditional marriage signifies divorce.
