The subject of paying tithe and offertory has dominated public discourse lately. Whilst many strongly believe that these pastors are fraudsters who use cunning ways to milk their congregants dry through tithing and offertory, others-often the zealots ones-says it’s mandatory for Christians to do so.
It therefore comes as a huge surprise a renowned pastor himself has that taking offertory, especially at crusade is very wrong. Shedding more light on this subject, popular German Evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke said he does not collect offerings during crusades.
He said:
We are here to bless you; we have brought you gifts of salvation and deliverance; we are here to give and not to take anything from you. Anyone who asks you to give offering for this crusade is a thief and should be reported immediately.
