South African actress Phindile Gwala has released a statement following recent allegation of assaulting a student outside a Pietermaritzburg night club, in KwaZulu-Natal.
The student who goes by the name Nompilo Beryl Mkhize accused the Muvhango actress for attacking her under the assumption that she was taking a video of her without her permission.
According to Nompilo, she was taking selfies outside Cubana night club and videos of herself but stopped to request an Uber before the actress came and scratched her and destroyed her phone.
Today, Phindile issued a lengthy statement where she explains that she and Nompilo have sat down and resolved the matter. She acknowledges the statement made by people who criticized her for her actions.
“Equally I express my sincere appreciation to the family and friends of of Ms Nompilo Mkhize,” reads part of the statement.
