President Muhammadu Buhari has caused a stir on social media after photos of his secondary school days surfaced online.

Buhari was born on December 17, 1942, in Daura, Katsina State, to a Hausa Fulani family. Buhari’s father, Mallam Hardo Adamu, was a Fulani leader, while his mother, Zulaihat, was of Hausa and Kanuri descent.

Buhari is his father’s twenty-third kid. He was raised by his mother after his father died while he was just four years old.

He attended primary school in Daura and Mai’adua, in 1953, Katsina Middle School, and he proceeded to GCFR in Katsina Provincial Secondary School from 1956 to 1961.

Buhari belonged to the Mogaji house and his house won both the hockey and athletic shields in 1958.

The president has come under criticisms from several people as they claim he(Buhari) does not have a secondary school certificate.

In other news, Niger Delta elder statesman, Edwin Clark has urged the Buhari administration to pull the plugs on the proposed naval base project in Kano.

Recall the federal government had recently proposed the building of a naval base in Kano where they got some 100 acres of land from the Governor of Kano State, Ganduje.

Clark opined that Kano State is an inland state and therefore has no water for the navigation of naval warships.

Clark wrote an open letter to Buhari titled ‘Establishment of a naval base in Kano in the heart of the Sahel?’

“The question here is, how possible will it be to navigate a navy warship through the waters of Lagos to the desert Naval Base in Kano which you want to build? Or is there a waterway to take one from Lagos to Kano? Or do you want to create an artificial ocean?
