Fabio’s ability and strength were questioned when Asante Kotoko first signed him into the league at the beginning of the 2020/21 premier league football season. More football pundits and fans predicted the midfielder will be ‘bullied’ since the Ghanaian game is more physical.

In an exclusive interview of Pure FM Sport show hosted by Bright Kankam Boadu, Fabio Gama after several games in the league has confirm the physicality and energy level in the league is too much comparing to the Brazilian league.

He stated the quality in the Brazilian league is so high comparing to the Ghanaian league where most players get more physical and ‘fight’ throughout the game.

The difference between Ghana and Brazil football is that there is so much quality in Brazil. What I have realized in Ghana football is that the players fight throughout the game.

Fabio Gama also added that the level and competitiveness in the Ghana premier league is very high with many great clubs but so far, his club Kumasi Asante Kotoko is the best team in the country. He said the best opponent team he has seen so far is the West African Football Academy (WAFA) team.

The level of the @GhanaLeague is not bad. @AsanteKotoko_SC is the best team in Ghana. I respect every team. @WAFAcademySC is the best opponent I have seen. They play good football- Fabio Gama
