News reaching us this evening is that there has been an accident between a Police Patrol Vehicle and a KIA Grand Bird Bus at Lougri in Walewale Municipality of the North East Region.
The police vehicle which collided with the bus was carrying four police officers. Around 4:30am on Saturday, the grave incident occurred which led to the sudden demise of Lance Corporal Ernest Oteng (driver of the patrol vehicle) and leaving the other officers in serious condition.

Sergeant Seidu Bouri, Lance Corporal Paul Ofori and Lance Corporal Elijah Mensah who were the only survivors were rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The Senior Police Officers of the Walewale Police Command affirmed the incident saying the driver of the bus has been arrested and in police custody for investigations. They also added that they were currently at the Tamale Teaching Hospital sympathizing with the injured officers and doing whatever they can do help their situation.
