Due to inclement weather, President Muhammadu Buhari has canceled his planned visit to Zamfara state.

Governor Bello Matawalle, who made the statement on Thursday, January 27, said the President’s visit had been postponed owing to poor visibility. The President was supposed to take off from Sokoto aboard a helicopter.

A new date for the President’s visit to the state, according to Matawalle, would be published soon.

He said;

“Mr President has spoken to me and asked me to convey his apologies to the good people of the state. Mr President said he would reschedule the visit to the state next week and the fixed date would be communicated to us in due course.

“Some of the security chiefs are currently in Katsina but can’t fly to Zamfara for the same reason. Based on this, we are extending our apology to the good people of the state over the postponement for reason beyond our control. We thank Mr President for his love for the state.”

In other news, Simi resorted to Twitter to criticize the Nigerian government for the country’s current state.

The mother of one pondered in her tweet why the administration fails to understand the wider picture of working to make the country function for everyone.

She had written:

”I do not, for the life of me, understand how the government does not see how they, we have so much much much more to gain if they actually fixed the country. Why are they blind to the big picture. How much can you steal? How much can you spend? Why can’t you help your people?
