The biological brother of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, Edward Akufo Addo has reportedly sued a radio presenter of Accra FM along with other two persons for defamation.

This was after the presenter leveled some wild allegations against Edward Akufo Addo, who happens to be the Managing Director of Amaadi Cold Stores Limited that he uses the Presidential Private Jet, otherwise known as “The Falcon”.

The plaintiff is suing Class Media, followed by the presenter, Kwabena Bobie Ansah, the 3rd person touts himself as the Executive Director of a group called Alliance for Society Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) and the fourth also touts himself to be the Executive Director of the Good Governance Advocacy Group Ghana.

“Plaintiff avers that in the course of the program, the 3rd and 4th Defendants, aided and encouraged by 2nd Defendant, published of and concerning false and malicious statements about Plaintiffs alleged use of the Ghana Presidential Jet, also known as “the Falcon”, the statement of claim cited by Citi News said.

Mr. Edward Akufo Addo is demanding compensation to the tune of GH10 million, an apology, and a restraining order to prevent the defendants from further denigrating him.

As a reminder, the Presidential Private Jet, “The Falcon” made its entry into the country in 2008 under the administration of Ex-President John Agyekum Kuffour.

Per reports, it was purchased by the Kuffour-led government at a price of $37 million.
