In a sad report, a top assistant PSL referee currently needs a whopping R1 million for a medical procedure.

This comes after he was involved in a serious car accident this week. His name is Shaun Olive, and he is a SAFA accredited match official.

He was involved in the accident when he was leaving his home in Mondeor to head to work as his car rolled over him and dragged him across the road.

This was shared by his partner, Sherize Pieterse who took to the Backabuddy website adding that the doctors asked for R1 million even before they could assess Olive.

Making the development known, Sherize Pieterse said;

“The doctors on consult asked for R1million before they’ll even assess him and he was transferred to a state hospital for treatment. He has undergone scans and X-rays in a private hospital and with no means of income and no medical aid, all bills will have to be paid in cash.

This includes the medical treatment and surgeries he will have to undergo in the next couple of days.

He has a broken left leg and a fractured pelvis, a urethral injury, and a broken nose, his pelvis is displaced and he has a spinal fracture. Internal damage as of this moment is still unknown.”

Olive was named the PSL Assistant Referee of the Season at the end of the 2019-20 season and so far, high-profile players such as Daniel Cardoso and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya have made contributions toward raising the funds for Olive with the amount raised so far being R50 000.
