Richie Tay who has R.Tay as his stage name is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, Performer, and guitarist who was born on 15th November 1990 in Nigeria but his parents are Ghanaians.
He started his musical journey when he was a little child and has passed through several reality shows in Africa like Project Fame season 8.0, Glo X factor, MTN Hitmaker season 3, Joyprime Studio among others.

He has a couple of songs to his credit but he officially took the career serious on 25th August 2009 and his first song was written in 2010 dubbed “Can I Be for You”.
Richie Tay claims he took inspiration from musicians like Kwabena Kwabena, Castro, Sarkodie, E.L, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Kelvynboy, and a lot more but he sounds very different from these bread of artistes in the music scene.

He was born by Mr. Fredrick Kofi Ackon who is a Nzema native and the mother Mrs. Susanna Victoria Tay is also from the Ewe tribe
