Former Ghana President Jerry John Rawlings has revealed he voted for his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings in the 2016 presidential elections.
Rawlings didn’t vote for his party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag-bearer neither did he vote for his perceived friend and eventual winner Nana Akufo-Addo of New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, he voted for her, the only female contestant, because she deserved it.
“I would like to make a confession. Was it 2016 when we went for polls? I voted for her. Whether I’ll vote for her again or not, I’m not going to say it. I voted for her because she deserved it, really,” he told Accra-based Asaase Radio.
She contested on the ticket of National Democratic Party (NDP). A party she founded after leaving NDC.
