Match 15th, 2020 was a day to remember for all of Nigeria as a massive gas explosion rocked the Abule-Edo area in Lagos 8 am early in the morning.

According to BBC Africa Eye, it was a pipeline explosion that levelled the Abule-Edo area, although the NNPC said it was an explosion caused by “a truck that hit a stack of gas cylinders near the pipeline”
Within a minute, a hundred thousand square meters of Lagos schools, offices and houses were destroyed in the explosion.

The explosion which took 23 live and injured many more rocked the people of Nigeria.
It is now known to the public that, the explosion was caused by a gas pipeline leakage; it is said that the NNPC neglected the to perform routine maintenance on the pipeline and also due to the fact that the place where the pipeline was situated had been eroded beyond control.
