As usual, Takoradi was very busy on Christmas day. Aside the normal masquerade activities which occurs on every Christmas day, Empire FM organized one of the best programs to be held in the Twin City, #TadiFest.

The climax to Empire FM’s week long program was #TadiFest Carnival, which was held on the 25 December, 2018 in Takoradi.

The program was in two sessions; the afternoon session and the evening session, and we must say the venue, organization and everything about the event was very successful.

The afternoon session was characterized by the various masquerading groups. They displayed their colorful uniforms and it was really an enjoyable moment as the various rivalries between these masquerading clubs brought the whole city to a stand still.

The venue, one of the most vibrant streets in the Twin City made the event very successful, thus, it drew people from all corners to the event grounds.

Just as the masquerading group were done with their display, there came the much anticipated evening session. This was when the finest musicians in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis mounted the stage to show what they have got, before MOBO award winner and African dancehall legend, Samini mounted the stage to do his own thing.

The stage, venue and the general coordination was superb as everything Empire FM put together made the event a very successful one.

Here are highlights from the event:

# Empire FM took the event beyond the borders of the Western Region, as TV and radio adverts were seen and heard in the National Capital, with GHOne TV and DSTV airing commercials of the event.

# A special documentary involving masquerading in the city was put together by Empire and it set to air on GHOne TV.

# Empire FM collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to ensure the success of the event.

# Packed with back to back activities, which included a clean up exercise, a massive health walk, it saw about 2,500 people getting engaged in the activities.

# There was a live band performance of all the greatest highlife musicians, with Kofi Bentil the headline act.

# 25 December 2018 was the climax of the week long program which saw the various masquerading groups display their colorful uniforms, with their brass band entertaining the massive crowd.

# The crowd stood on their feet all day, as they waited patiently for Samini to arrive. City acts like Nero X, Casta Troy, Hindu, Bobo Dada Bee, Aya, Copr Sayvee and a host of other musicians entertained fans before the arrival of Samini.

We must commend Empire FM for such a great event and anticipate a build up to this year’s next year.
