American politician, Adam Daniel Kinzinger was born on February 27th, 1978 in Kankakee, Illinois in the United States of America. He was born to the CEO of Faith-based organization, Rus Kinzinger and his mother, Betty Jo who was an elementary school teacher.
Early Life
Adam Kinzinge spent most of his youthful age at Jacksonville in Illinois in the USA. He was then raised in Bloomington in Illionois. He graduated from Normal Community West High School in 1996 and Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2000. While still a student at Illinois State, Kinzinger ran for office as a McLean County county board member in 1998. At age 20, Kinzinger was one of the youngest county board members in McLean County history when he won the election against an incumbent. He served on the board until his resignation in 2003. Kinzinger interned with a former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald participated in a program at Illinois State and graduated shortly after.
Political Career, Positions and Military Service
In order to enlist in the American Air Force, Kinzinger left the McLean County Board in 2003. In November 2003, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and was given his pilot wings. As a KC-135 Stratotanker pilot, Kinzinger first completed flights in South America, Guam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Later, he moved to flying the RC-26 surveillance aircraft and served on two separate occasions in Iraq. Kinzinger served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, and Air Mobility Command before being promoted gradually to his current rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In an effort to maintain border security, Kinzinger was sent to the US-Mexico border in February 2019 as part of his ongoing service with the Air National Guard.
Kinzinger supports legalizing concealed carry of weapons across state lines in states where it is permitted. Kinzinger was one of eight Republican lawmakers who voted on March 11, 2021, to support the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021. Following the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting, which left 22 people dead, Kinzinger declared on May 29, 2022, that he was “open to” an assault weapons prohibition. Kinzinger voted in favor of repealing the Affordable Care Act in 2017. (Obamacare). The Dodd-Frank Act is opposed by Kinzinger. The U.S. has given Kinzinger a 94% lifetime rating. a 49% lifetime rating from the Club for Growth, a conservative organization that supports tax reduction, lower spending, deregulation, and free trade. The Chamber of Commerce, a business-oriented organization. Kinzinger was the only minority member to vote in favor of the America COMPETES Act of 2022, even though many House Republicans had previously backed some of its provisions. House leadership had pressured Republicans to vote against the measure because they believed it was too soft on China.
Kinzinger applauded Donald Trump’s plan to assassinate Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani, Commander of the Quds Force and the third-highest ranking official in Iran, on Twitter. As for penalizing sanctuary cities, Kinzinger is in favor. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is supported by Kinzinger (DACA). Kinzinger voted in favor of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020, which gives DHS permission to almost increase the number of H-2B visas that are available for the rest of FY 2020. Kinzinger supported H.R. 1158, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020, which effectively forbids ICE from assisting Health and Human Services in detaining or removing sponsors of unaccompanied immigrant children who are illegal aliens (UACs). According to NORML, Kinzinger gets a “C” rating for his voting record on issues involving cannabis. He was in favor of veterans having access to medical marijuana if it was suggested by their VA doctor and it was permitted in their home states. He rejected a proposal to remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act’s list of prohibited drugs.
Personal Life
In 2011, Kinzinger and fellow pilot Air Force Captain Riki Meyers became engaged; they later called it quits in 2012. In June 2019, Kinzinger got engaged to Sofia Boza-Holman, a former assistant to John Boehner and assistant to Vice President Mike Pence. In 2020, on February 16, they got hitched. Christian Adam Kinzinger, their son, was born in January 2022.
