The mother and manager of Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy, Bose Ogulu has disclosed in a recent interview that the Rivers State Government did not give any money to his son.

It would be recalled that the Rivers State Government decided to honor Burna Boy after he was awarded at the Grammies a few months ago. The African Giant and songwriter Damini Ogulu made Nigeria and Africa proud after he won the Best Global music with his Album “Twice As Tall” a few weeks ago.

After Burna Boy’s award, social media users mounted pressure on the Rivers State Government after they initially refused to congratulate him. They later came out to announce that they were organizing a homecoming event for Burna Boy for making Nigerians proud and for taking his music far.

The homecoming event was slated to hold on the 27th of March at the EUI Event Centre port Harcourt. However, rumors flooded social media that the award-winning artist Burna Boy charged the Rivers State N100 Million for his presence at the concert.

During the interview with Ebuka, Bose Ogulu, mother of Burna Boy has disclosed that her son was only honoured because of his achievement and couldn’t disrespect the Rivers State by turning down such an honour. She also debunked rumors that Burna Boy was given money as it was rumored.
