Former Governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi has commented on an alleged audio clip which had him confessing that Buhari-led administration has been printing money.

Through his media aide, Taiye Elebiyo-Edeni on Tuesday, May 4, he labeled the clip as fake while entreating the members of the general public to disregard it.

In a statement, the former governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has refuted claims of him admitting in an audio conversation that the Buhari-led administration has been printing money to run the government.

He Said;

“I have never headed any financial institution in the country and therefore did not qualify as an authority in the issues that concerns printing of money into the economy.

“I advise Nigerians who want information on printing of money to find out from the appropriate agency and not circulate false statement to gain cheap publicity.”

Meanwhile, Rotimi Amaechi was last in the news after a former chieftain of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Henry Ugboma accused Rivers State governor, Governor Nyesom Wike of plotting to destroy him politically.

The former PDP chieftain was a member of Wike’s transition committee in 2015, and he stated in his submission that the number one element of Governor Wike’s agenda list was to tarnish Amaechi’s image.

This was revealed in a recent report by the PUNCH and Ugboma who is now the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital claimed that Wike’s plot against Amaechi was one of the reasons he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
