Former Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi under the erstwhile Mahama administration,Richard Ofori Boadi Agyemang Zuba has disclosed that the Ghana Movie Industry is in coma and needs the intervention of the Ministry of Tourism,Creative Arts and Culture to revive it.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah,the former Municipal Chief Executive charged the current minister to put in measures that will revive the industry because it has taken a nosedive and if care is not taken,will render a lot of people jobless.

’’Kwame seriously the country’s movie industry is in coma and needs the Creative Arts industry intervention through government to resurrect it”.

”It’s only in Ghana that we think movie producers are solely responsible the growth of the industry but in actual fact the government need to invest there properly for the industry’s growth which one way or the other generate revenue to push the country”.

He added ”If you look at the rate at which Kumawood was churning out movies every week,the Ghana Movie Industry was booming but if you look at the current trend,you would realize that the industry is sinking and in coma.The current Minister of Tourism,Creative Arts and Culture should put in pragmatic measures to revive the ailing industry”.
