Shaggy a.k.a Mr Boombastic has turned down Badgal Riri’s request to feature on her forthcoming reggae album titled #R9.

The jamaican and multiple award winning artiste is the right man for the job since he has a good track record in producing great reggae dancehall albums.

It’s believed that Shaggy refused to be featured because he was asked to audition before he gets featured on the album.

In an interview, he said:

“They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah. There’s a lot of great people involved, but for me, I didn’t need to audition to be on the record. I’ll leave that to younger guys. But from what I hear, it should be good.”

He added that it’s good Riri has switched to dancehall which is good for the promotion of the genre.

He said:

“It’s healthy competition. Dancehall is in good place but we need as many people to do this art form as possible. When it crosses over and becomes popular with artists from other genres and other cultures, that can only be good.”

Does Shaggy need audition to feature on Rihanna’s album?
