There has been mad rush for groceries at market centres in the country’s capital after the President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo-Addo announced a lockdown lastnight.

In his bid to prevent further spread of the unprecedented coronavirus outbreak in the country, the president announced to the peoople of Ghana that as of Monday, 28th March, Accra, Kumasi, Tema and it environs will be on a partial lockdown since the abovementioned areas have recorded cases of the ruthless virus.

Ghanaians have resorted to panic buying which gives room for overpricing, stealing, confusion and worst of all, spread of the disease from a carrier to another person unknowingly. Shatta Wale has taken to social media to advise Ghanaians on the lockdown. He advised people to stop panic buying since they would be allowed to go shopping as the day goes by.
