The Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Alexander Obeng has revealed that Shatta Wale, Nana Dope, Gangee, and Jesus Ahuofe are still in the custody of the police and have not been granted bail yet as speculated on social media.

According to him, the four suspects who were arrested yesterday following an alleged shooting incident that occurred at East Legon are still in their custody assisting them with investigations.

DSP Alexander Obeng stated that they are doing all possible to protect the rights of the musician and the two individuals who were arrested in connection with the suspected fabrication of a tale claiming he was shot by an unknown assailant on Monday night.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News, He also stated that they will be charged and processed for court in accordance with the security service’s procedures, noting that the evidence they have suggests that the musician’s charges may revolve around “publication of false news, subversion of a public officer, and attempts to instill fear and panic.
