Ghanaian Afro-pop musician songwriter and singer Francisca Gawugah who goes by the stage name Sista Afia was born on 7th January 1993 in Accra.

She happens to be the niece of Ghanaian Bishop Nicholas Duncan Williams.

She enjoyed her early childhood in Accra and Kumasi and later relocated to the United Kingdom to further her education as a nurse. She later returned to Ghana in 2015 to pursue her music career. She had her greatest inspiration from musician Bisa Kdei and even had a collaboration on the song ”Kro Kro No”.

She is known to be one controversial female musican and recently had her physical beef with Freda Rhymz after their previous lyrical issues. She has a lot of singles including ”Are You Ready”, ”Ye Wani” featureing Kofi Kinaata, ”Jeje” featuring Shatta Wale, ”Slay Queen”, ”Pass You”, ”Corner Corner” featuring Kelyvn boy, ”Paper” featuring Victor AD among others.

Because of her hard work in the music industry, she has had a series of nominations including female act of the year in 3 Music Awards in 2018.
