A petition proposed by the South African national football team after they lost to the Ghana Black Stars in their final 2022 FIFA Worldcup Qualifier has exceeded 75,000 marks.

The Bafana Bafana recently conceeded a 1-0 defeat against the Ghana Black Stars in the 2022 FIFA Worldcup Qualifiers after teh latter w as awarded a penalty converted by the captaian of the team, Andrea Dede Ayew.

The Black Stars qualified to the playoff stage aftwer emerging as winners in Group G, eliminating Sounth Africans from the game.

According to the South African national team, they were handed a raw deal by the Senegalese refree by the name of Maguette N’Diaye after he awarded what they describe as a ‘dubious’ penalty to the Black Stars just after the hour mark.

The Black Stars were awarded the penalty following a foul done by Rushine De Reuck on the Ghanaian defender, Daniel Amartey but most South Africans describe the move of the refree as a glossy call.

Thato Majola proposed a petition to the officials of FIFA’s Ethics Committee for an immediate investigation to be conducted on the match as they demand for a rematch.

We call on FIFA’s Ethics Committee to investigate the Senegalese refree for possible match manupulation and influencing the results of the football match”, Majola said.

However, the petition started with a target of 1500 signatures but per a recent update, the petition has attracted more tha 75,000 signatures.
